Excellent stock, knowledgable staff. If you are lucky enough to be there when one of the owners is in the shop by all means... ask for their recommendations, they choose each wine that comes in to their store and they know them well. Toss aside your notions of points and national wine reviews. These owners will not bore you with what they think the masses want, they will recommend based on what you say you are looking for.. and feel comfortable to include price as one of the criteria. I am fortunate to live close enough to pop in when I want something special for a winetasting event - it is a bit of a drive , but hey , it is an avocation for me. Many times, many many times, their recommendation has been the 'winner' bottle at my tasting events. Compared to other stores outside of the bay area, this wineshop is superb.

this place is the store you want to go to to feel belittled and ignorant about wine and yourself. The owner ponttificates endlessly about the places he has been and the wonderful wines he has had that you will never have and how much better his palate is and how sophisticated he is compared to you and how little you actually know about wine and the art of drinking it.
