Stockton, California lies along the San Joaquin Delta waterway. It’s located near the California Coast, Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park. Although this city was named after Commodore Robert F. Stockton, its founder was Captain Charles M. Weber.

 

During 1846, John Brown forewarned Commodore Stockton of incoming enemy troops. 

Charles Weber established the Temple Israel Cemetery in 1851 for Stockton’s Jewish community.

 

This city is known for its shipping and processing economy. However, Stockton also manufactures electronics and lumber goods.

 

Naturally, Stockton was part of the California Gold Rush. The Stockton Assembly Center was erected in 1942.

 

Stockton, California is proud of its annual Asparagus Festival. Stockton also celebrates Black History Month. In addition, its citizens and tourists enjoy the festivities of Juneteenth Festival. Waterfest Celebration, National Night Out, Family Literacy Day in the Park, California Coastal Clean-up Day, Make a Difference Day, America Recycles Day, Festival of Lights and Winter Wonderland and First Night Stockton.
